Meet Mark
Before becoming a real estate broker in 1993, Mark Harter managed a technology and trading company in the Middle East. Now, he works out of John L. Scott’s Lake Oswego office, specializing in the buying and selling of luxury homes, investment properties and relocation properties in the cities of Portland, Lake Oswego, Beaverton, Hillsboro, Tualatin, West Linn, Wilsonville and Sherwood.
Initially drawn to real estate by the fact that real estate is as unique as the people involved in buying or selling it, Mark likes the opportunities in the industry to help clients reach their personal goals. Clients turn to Mark because he is knowledgeable, trustworthy and professional. His ultimate goal is always to exceed client expectations and he does that through his dedication and expertise.
In his free time, Mark loves to travel, golf and hike the Northwest's many recreational areas. He also enjoys visiting the many wineries Oregon has to offer. To give back, he donates his time and a portion of each commission to worthy causes including Doernbecher Children's Hospital, OHSU Knight Cancer Institute and The Salvation Army.
Lake Oswego
Tree-lined neighborhoods, a strong civic-minded community, and one of the best school districts in the nation make Lake Oswego one of Oregon’s most sought-after cities. One visit here and you’ll see why. Named after Oswego Lake that lies in the center of town, Lake Oswego is one of Portland’s toniest suburbs. Homes here range from meticulously maintained mid-centuries, stately tudors, and luxurious new construction. The beautiful environs and privacy created by old growth forests make Lake Oswego a desirable place to live for many of the Willamette Valley’s most affluent and famous residents, including several Portland Trailblazers and Portland Timbers team members. Perhaps the most desirable aspect of Lake Oswego, however, is the top-notch school system. The Lake Oswego School district comprises 10 schools that consistently receive Excellent scores from Oregon’s Department of Education, and both high schools in the district boast four-year graduation rates well north of 90%. While the excellent schools keep properties values high even for those who don’t have children, there are other benefits to making a home in Lake Oswego. The city is home to multiple community centers, including indoor tennis and aquatics centers, both private and municipal golf courses, an equestrian club, and one of the top ten libraries in the country.
